Audrey Zabin is the founder of Audrey Zabin & Associates and AZA Care Management and Home Care(AZA). Esablished in 1995, AZA has grown into one of the largest and most prestigious Care Management practices in Massachusetts and is widely known throughout New England.
Ms. Zabin supervises and manages this active Care Management practice with a hands-on-approach. She brings over two decades of Care Management experience to her practice and is a lifelong advocate for elders and those with physical and mental health challenges. Ms. Zabin has dedicated her career to finding the best ways to offer guidance and assistance to her clients.
Ms. Zabin earned her M.Ed. in counseling from Harvard University and is both a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and a Certified Care Manager (CMC).
Her work experience incorporates several care settings. She has been a Nursing Home Ombudsman with Jewish Family & Children’s Services in metropolitan Boston, a licensed mental health clinician in nursing homes and has been appointed legal Guardian for several Wards. Her extensive professional experience has contributed to her wealth of knowledge regarding mental illnesses, dementias and aging. This background led to her passion for Care Management.
Ms. Zabin serves as a consultant to both The Pavillion and the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit at McLean Hospital, an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. At McLean, she provides support and advice to patients and families who are struggling with issues surrounding mental health, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Ms. Zabin is recognized as a national leader in the field of Care Management and has authored several publications. She is a frequent guest lecturer at many organizations and Universities including: Harvard Medical School, the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern Massachusetts, the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, the New England Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, Massachusetts Home Care Alliance, Massachusetts Assisted Living Facilities Association and the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston. In 2007 Ms. Zabin was recognized as the Outstanding Chapter Member from the New England Geriatric Care Managers Association. In September of 2009 she was featured in the New York Times Business Section article entitled “When Elder Care Problems Escalate, You Can Hire an Expert.”
Among Ms. Zabin’s professional affiliations are: the National Association of Social Workers, the American Society on Aging, the National Council on Aging and the Women President’s Organization (WPO). She also is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, where she has served in several leadership positions, as a Committee Chair and on the Board of Directors.
Ms. Zabin only employs Care Managers and Caregivers that share her dedication to delivering individualized service, and ascribe to her high standard of ethics.
